To help each student realize their full academic and affective potential. Vanderhoof Elementary School will be a safe, supportive environment where students become responsible, productive citizens and life-long learners.
History

Vanderhoof Elementary School was built in 1969 and was named for Thomas D. Vanderhoof.
Mr. Vanderhoof joined the teaching staff of Arvada High School in 1922, two years after the school opened. Mr. Vanderhoof taught vocational agriculture and welding. He is remembered as a visionary and a mentor, and Arvada's first honored coach. Baseball, football, and basketball flourished under his leadership. He was also a member of the first Jefferson County School Board after reorganization.
Vanderhoof Elementary School is a K-5 school whose students live in the west Arvada/east Golden area of Jefferson County. Vanderhoof feeds into Drake Middle School and Arvada West High School.
The mascot is the Roadrunner and the school colors are blue and yellow.
The annual fall community celebration, is called Vanderfest. In addition, many other school events occur during the year including, Spelling Bee, Science fair, Robots/ Coding and Student Government. We also have many clubs including; Art Club, Battle of the books, Running, Chess club, Choir, and several others!
