Hi there! My name is Miss McKenna and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year.

I was born and raised in Valencia, California. The one thing I miss the most about my hometown was being so close to the beach and going there every weekend to surf and spend hours in the ocean. I originally moved to Boulder to get my undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado. Sko buffs! I then moved on to get my masters in teaching at the University of Colorado Denver. I now reside in downtown Denver with my partner, Julien, where we are loving the city life. 

I have two golden retrievers named Ella and Jordy. I am dog obsessed, so all photos of your dogs are encouraged and appreciated. 

My passions include traveling all over the world, snowboarding, and most of all...teaching! Please stop by and say hello at any time.

Welcome!  I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year.  Fifth grade is an exciting year not only for academic learning but also for social and emotional growth.  This will be a fun and exciting year.  I look forward to getting to know you and your child. 

I am originally from a small town near Lake Huron in Michigan.   After graduating from high-school I moved to Boulder where I attended the University of Colorado.  My public teaching experience began in 2003 in the state of Arizona.  I taught fifth grade as well as eight grade at a K-8 school before returning to Colorado.

My husband Nat and I have two children Josie (16) and Thatcher (14).  Together as a family we enjoy the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer.   In addition to enjoying the outdoors I am passionate about education, health and reading.

Hi! I am Lynne Henry, a 5th grade teacher at Vanderhoof Elementary.

I have always wanted to be a teacher. My dad taught 6th grade at Wilmore Davis Elementary School and I would always go into his classroom and help. 

Facts about me:

• I am a Colorado native. I went to Fitzmorris, Arvada Junior High (yes, that is what it was called 🙂), then my parents moved and I went to Oberon, and Arvada West.

• I went to college at Nebraska Wesleyan University where I played collegiate softball (I was even inducted into their Sports Hall of Fame).

• I taught at Campbell for 26 years (I have taught many parents of my students).

• My husband, Jason, is also a teacher at Fletcher Miller Special Education School.

• I have two children. My daughter, Jaylen, is a junior at Ralston Valley and plays volleyball (she is almost 6 feet tall!). My son, Trey, is a sixth grader at Oberon and plays baseball.

• My family loves sports and is constantly playing and watching sports.
